How Solar Power System Works?
Sunlight Conversion: When sunlight hits the solar panels, the photovoltaic cells within the panels generate an electric current. This occurs due to the photovoltaic effect, where photons from sunlight knock electrons loose from atoms, generating electricity.
Electricity Generation: The DC electricity generated by the panels is sent to the inverter, which converts it into AC electricity usable by common household appliances.
Power Distribution: The converted electricity is then either used immediately by the premises where the solar panels are installed or sent to the grid if the system generates surplus power.
Net Metering/Feed-In Tariffs: Excess electricity produced by the system can be fed back into the grid, allowing owners to receive credits or payments for the energy they contribute.
Benefits of Solar Power Systems
Renewable Energy Source: Solar power is a renewable and abundant energy source, reducing dependence on finite fossil fuels.
Environmentally Friendly: Solar energy production does not emit greenhouse gases or other pollutants, contributing to a cleaner environment.
Cost Savings: Over time, solar power systems can significantly reduce electricity bills and offer a return on investment, especially with government incentives and decreasing installation costs.
Energy Independence: Producing one’s electricity decreases reliance on traditional power grids and energy providers.
Low Maintenance: Solar panels generally require minimal maintenance and have long lifespans, offering consistent energy production over many years.
